Suspect in Charleston deadly shooting arrested in Georgia
A suspect from Charleston, accused of a lethal shooting, has been apprehended by Atlanta Area U.S. Marshals in Georgia. Ryan D’Lorenzo Lewis, a 30-year-old Charleston resident, now faces charges of murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, first-degree assault and battery, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime, and two counts of attempted murder, as reported by the Charleston Police Department.
Details of the Charleston Shooting Incident
An officer assigned to the Bridgeview Apartment complex at 104 North Romney St came across the crime scene around 11 p.m. on July 5th. Sgt. Chris Stinson confirmed that the officer heard multiple gunshots, prompting a swift response by over ten additional units.
At the scene, officers found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Brian Fokes, a 44-year-old from Charleston, was one of the victims. Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal revealed Fokes succumbed to his shooting injuries around 11:21 p.m. The attempts to save him at the scene were unsuccessful, leading to him being pronounced dead.
The other two gunshot victims were transported to local hospitals for immediate treatment. It has been reported that they have since been released.
Suspect in Deadly Shooting is Identified
Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify Ryan D’Lorenzo Lewis as the alleged perpetrator of the fatal shooting. His capture took place in Decatur, Georgia, thanks to the Atlanta Area U.S. Marshals, who apprehended him on Thursday.
