In Charleston County, South Carolina, preparations are underway for the upcoming 10th Annual Take Back Our Village and CCSO Cops and Kids Back to School Bash. As an annual tradition for the past decade, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is gearing up to host the much-anticipated event this year.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Exchange Park in Ladson. The main goal of the Back-to-School Bash is to engage the local community and provide resources and giveaways aimed at helping students get a head start on the upcoming academic year. The event is guided by the important principle that students must be present to receive school supplies.
Contributions to the noble cause are most welcome. Residents and community members are encouraged to donate school supplies ahead of the event. Two designated drop-off boxes have been set up for such donations. One is located at the front lobby of the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters situated at 3691 Leeds Avenue in North Charleston, while the other is stationed at the Charleston County Courthouse downtown, near the Queen Street parking garage entrance.
The Back-to-School bash promises an exciting day for all attendees. Apart from the school supplies giveaway, the event will feature a range of fun-filled activities. Families are guaranteed a good time while also having the opportunity to gather resources that will aid in preparing their kids for back-to-school.
Community participation is crucial for the success of the event. By marking their calendars and turning up in numbers, community members can show unparalleled support for local students and families. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging locals to join them in making this annual tradition even more impactful this year.
