For Charleston County residents, it’s time to polish your dancing shoes as Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission announces the return of their annual inclusive prom slated for August 10.
Dance enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that this year’s event is disco-themed, inviting community members to time travel to the glamorous 70s. Participants are urged to embrace the theme by donning bell bottoms, feather boas, sequins, and all things glittering and groovy. The event promises to be an immersive experience, with memorable dancing to the tunes spun by the event’s DJ.
In line with the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s commitment to inclusivity, this 70s themed prom opens its doors to all community members, regardless of their abilities. Friends and families of participants are equally welcome, reinforcing the community spirit that the event aims to promote. It allows participants to interact, bond and create lasting memories while celebrating diversity and unity.
The inclusive prom will be held at the Mount Pleasant Town Hall Gym, located at 100 Ann Edwards Ln. The event is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m., providing two hours full of disco dancing and fun interactions.
The registration fee is set at $4 per person if registered early, and $5 per person on the event day. This fee ensures all attendees have access to all the activities on offer during the prom. Chaperones are an integral part of the event too, however, they are required to be in attendance free of charge with a registered participant./p>
