Charleston County Parks to Host Annual Dog Day Afternoons

Charleston County Parks to Host Annual Dog Day Afternoons

In an annual tradition that merges the spirit of summer and the love of dogs, Charleston County Parks is once again selling advance tickets for its popular Dog Day Afternoons. Through these events, Charleston residents are welcomed to bring their pet canines to select waterparks in the county, promising an exciting end to the summer.

Where and When?

Three waterparks in the county will host the Dog Day events this year. Both Splash Zone at James Island County Park and Splash Island at Palmetto Islands County Park have scheduled their Dog Day celebration on Saturday, August 17. Following them, Whirlin’ Waters at Wannamaker County Park will be organizing the event on Sunday, September 8.

The Dog Day Afternoons at both waterparks will have two sessions: a morning session from 10 a.m-12 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1-3 p.m. The split schedule allows pet owners to choose the time that best suits their convenience.

How to Get Tickets?

Tickets for the event can be purchased on-site, with the event pass selling at $20. However, due to the popularity garnered by Dog Day Afternoons in past years, these events are expected to sell out quickly. To avoid disappointment, and avail a pre-booking discount, pet owners are encouraged to register in advance for a discounted price of $15.

To book tickets for this fun-filled, furry extravaganza at Charleston County Parks, attendees can visit their official website: ccprc.com/dogday.

Fun at the Splash

Not just an opportunity to enjoy some quality time with man’s best friend, these Dog Day Afternoons also serve as social gatherings for like-minded pet-owners, forging a community spirit in a fun and refreshing waterpark setting. Over the years, Charleston County Parks has witnessed the Dog Day Afternoons grow in appeal, with an increasing number of Charleston residents participating, finding it an enjoyable and exceptional way to bid farewell to the summer season.
