Charleston County Men Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two men from Charleston County, South Carolina have been apprehended by authorities in connection with two separate child pornography cases, according to a statement released by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

The Suspects

Nicholas Michael Lehner, 25, of Summerville, is charged with one count of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, while Davron Ulugbekovich Madaminov, 22, of Mount Pleasant, faces one count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, stated the Attorney General’s Office spokesperson Robert Kittle by official notice.

Inquiry Details

Investigators were led to Lehner following a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which identified that he allegedly held files containing child sexual abuse material. Notably, Madaminov is alleged to have both manufactured and disseminated files containing such material, Kittle declared.

The arrests were carried out by members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, involving a synergistic effort between the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office and the Mount Pleasant Police Department. Lehner and Madaminov were apprehended on May 8 and May 3 respectively, according to the information provided by Kittle.

Potential Penalties

Upon conviction, Lehner could face a prison sentence of up to 10 years. Madaminov, if found guilty on all the four counts brought against him, could serve up to 50 years behind bars. Madaminov has been freed on a $20,000 bond, as revealed.

Future Proceedings

These charges stemming from the possession, manufacturing, and distribution of sexually-explicit images of minors serve as a grim reminder of the persistent battles law enforcement faces in combating child exploitation, specifically in the digital space. As law enforcement continues to confront this grave infringement upon the rights and safety of children, all eyes will be on the courts and how they handle these particular cases as they proceed.

It should be noted that the above-summarized charges are allegations and the suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Safeguarding Children in Our Communities

It is the collective responsibility of society to protect the most vulnerable among us – our children. While law enforcement agencies tirelessly endeavor to bring these heinous crimes to light and their perpetrators to justice, awareness and vigilance within communities serve as a crucial first line of defense in protecting children and ensuring their safety.
