Whether you’re seeking a career change or are just starting out, this event is specifically designed for you. With so much happening in the law enforcement field, it’s a fantastic chance to explore various roles and see if one of them might just be your calling.
The event is set to unfold at the Al Cannon Detention Center, located at 3841 Leeds Avenue. Mark your calendars for Friday, when the event kicks off from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and don’t forget to swing by on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon. If you haven’t registered yet, no worries! Same-day registration is available, and you can even take a few moments to sign up beforehand.
Here’s a rundown of what to expect at the event:
This event opens its doors to a broad audience. If you’re at least 18 years old, you can start your application for detention positions without needing a college degree. What a great opportunity to kickstart your career!
Committed to finding passionate candidates, Lieutenant Jacqui Woodall from the Community Engagement Unit expressed the importance of such events. “Like many professions out there, we need qualified individuals who are eager to give back to their communities. We’re looking for those who enjoy teamwork and are devoted to serving,” she shared.
Woodall encourages individuals who have even the slightest interest in law enforcement to come out and see what it’s all about. “Every day brings something new and exciting. It’s a challenge, but it’s so rewarding to see the difference we make in the community,” she added. “Helping people through tough times is incredibly fulfilling, and it’s a career that offers daily growth.”
While same-day registration is available, Woodall emphasizes the importance of preparation. She recommends familiarizing yourself with the tests you’ll take, suggesting practice can make all the difference. If for some reason you don’t pass a test on your first try, don’t worry as they do allow second chances.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to contribute positively to the community and explore a fulfilling career in law enforcement, don’t miss this chance at Charleston County’s hiring event. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just stepping into the job market, there’s a place for you here.
