College of Charleston baseball team secured a commanding victory over Georgia Southern with a 13-3 run-rule win. This victory not only marked the Cougars’ first run-rule win of the season but also gave them the upper hand in the season series after splitting games with the Eagles earlier in the season.

Strong Response

Georgia Southern took an early lead with a two-run homer in the second inning. However, College of Charleston responded swiftly with a four-run surge in the bottom of the inning. Dylan Johnson and Kevin Madden contributed RBIs, and Trotter Harlan sealed the inning with a double that brought in two runs.

In the fifth inning, an RBI single from Avery Neaves extended Charleston’s lead to 5-2. Despite Georgia Southern narrowing the gap to 5-3 in the sixth, Will Baumhofer’s two-run hit in the bottom half pushed Charleston ahead by four runs.
