South Carolina Public Radio and the College of Charleston have partnered to introduce a new one-minute radio segment called Teachable Moments. Starting April 12, 2024, this segment will address key educational issues tailored for students and parents.
Topics covered in Teachable Moments will range from cellphone use in classrooms, homework management, mental health awareness, to combating childhood obesity. Each episode aims to provide valuable insights and tips for academic success and overall well-being.
Rénard Harris, the host of Teachable Moments, is an associate professor at the College of Charleston’s School of Business. With expertise in multicultural education, diversity, equity, and inclusion, Harris brings a wealth of knowledge to facilitate discussions on educational issues.
“The College of Charleston is thrilled to collaborate with SCETV to offer this educational segment,” says College of Charleston President Andrew T. Hsu.
The partnership between S.C. Public Radio and the College of Charleston aims to promote community engagement and support educational programs. “S.C. Public Radio is delighted to launch this partnership with the College of Charleston,” says SCETV President and CEO Adrienne Fairwell.
Teachable Moments will be aired on S.C. Public Radio every Friday between Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
