The College of Charleston baseball team continues to shine as designated hitter Cole Singsank has been named the D1Baseball Player of the Week. Singsank’s exceptional performance against The Citadel and Northeastern earned him this prestigious national recognition.
Singsank’s stellar week on the field included going 9-for-17 with an impressive six home runs, 15 RBIs, and nine runs scored. His remarkable contributions helped the Cougars secure victories over The Citadel and Northeastern, solidifying their standing in the CAA.
In a standout performance against The Citadel, Singsank crushed a pair of homers in a 10-7 victory. He followed up with an even more impressive showing against Northeastern, where he recorded two homers, two doubles, four runs scored, and seven RBIs in an 18-5 win.
Singsank’s clutch RBI single in the finale against Northeastern was instrumental in Charleston’s comeback, as they rallied to a 6-3 win and secured their seventh-straight CAA series victory. His power surge not only propelled him to the top of the team leaderboard but also earned him the fifth spot in the league with 16 home runs.
Currently batting .297 with a remarkable .665 slugging percentage and 48 RBIs, Singsank’s standout performance has been a driving force for the College of Charleston baseball team’s success this season.
Singsank’s accolade as the D1Baseball Player of the Week marks the second time a Cougar player has been recognized nationally in the past three weeks. Cole Mathis was previously honored as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter of the Week following an outstanding series against Campbell.
With Singsank’s exceptional performance and the team’s momentum, the College of Charleston baseball team is well-positioned as they head to Elon in contention for the CAA regular-season title.
