The College of Charleston women’s basketball team delivered a spectacular performance on Saturday, defeating Delaware with a commanding 102-77 victory. The win secured the Cougars a double-bye in the upcoming CAA Tournament in Washington, D.C. With a stellar showing in the final quarter, Charleston set a new program record by scoring 102 points against a Division I opponent.
Charleston dominated from the start, putting up 24 points in each of the first two quarters to establish a comfortable lead at halftime. Jada Logan led the charge for the Cougars, showcasing her scoring prowess with 18 points in the first half. However, Delaware mounted a comeback in the third quarter, narrowing the gap to just three points heading into the final period.
It was in the fourth quarter that Charleston truly shined, unleashing an explosive offensive display that saw them pour in 33 points to seal the victory in grand fashion. The Cougars’ total of 102 points eclipsed the previous program record of 101 points scored against William & Mary in 2014.
Alexis Andrews emerged as a standout performer for the Cougars, delivering a scintillating second-half performance with 23 points in just 20 minutes of play. Andrews finished the game with a game-high 30 points, including six three-pointers. Jada Logan also made a significant impact, contributing 26 points and securing a double-double with 12 rebounds. Jenna Annecchiarico added 16 points and five assists to bolster the Cougar’s offensive effort.
With the win, Charleston wrapped up its regular season with three consecutive victories, reaching a milestone of 21 wins for the season. This marks the most wins for the Cougars since 2010 and only the third time in program history that they have achieved a 20-win season. The team now looks ahead to the CAA Tournament in Washington, D.C., where they will vie for conference honors.
College of Charleston will next head to Washington, D.C. for the CAA Tournament, with seeding set to be determined following the conclusion of all regular-season games.
