The residents of Mount Pleasant can now relish the delicious and eclectic sandwich options of the highly esteemed sandwich shop, Bodega, as it recently opened a new branch at 414 W. Coleman Blvd., on the 28th of February, 2024.
As Bodega has been serving a delightful fare of New York-style sandwiches, benedicts, and an array of brunch specials in downtown Charleston, the new location aims to offer the same mouthwatering dishes to the gastronomes of Mount Pleasant, as indicated in a press release.
Bodega embarked upon its successful culinary journey as a weekend breakfast pop-up outlet at Uptown Hospitality Group’s well-known spot, Uptown Social, located on King Street. It gained a foothold in the local food scene by offering its specialty Manhattan-style sandwiches, an enticing collection of brunch and lunch delicacies, accompanied by a selection of refreshing beverages. The sandwich shop draws inspiration from the concept of a neighborhood bodega.
On top of the customary offerings, the newly opened Mount Pleasant location plans to introduce a few new features. This includes a drive-thru option, which is designed to provide convenience for their on-the-go customers, and an expansive patio for patrons who prefer al fresco dining.
The ambiance and interiors at the new location will reflect a distinct New York vibe, similar to the original Bodega restaurant in downtown Charleston, complete with graffiti and colorful accents to create an engaging dining experience.
Alec Gropman, the Director of Culinary Operations and Partner at Bodega, expressed his anticipation for the shop’s expansion. He stated, “Growth has always been our goal. Watching Bodega evolve from an Uptown Social kitchen pop-up to a mainstay on Ann Street, to a second location opening in Mount Pleasant, has been so inspiring for our team. We’re excited to expand Bodega’s footprint and continue sharing all that Uptown Hospitality Group offers.”
The newly opened location in Mount Pleasant will stand apart from its predecessor by offering a few additional amenities, which include a smooth drive-thru service and a spacious patio for outdoor dining. These new features aim to cater to the varied dining preferences of customers and enhance their overall experience.
The venture continues to emphasize its core business pursuit of providing the best breakfast and lunch fare, helping it establish its mark as a favorite destination for sandwich lovers in Charleston and beyond. With the addition of the Mount Pleasant branch, Bodega is set to expand its reach to more food enthusiasts in different regions of South Carolina.
