College of Charleston women’s basketball head coach Robin Harmony has announced the hiring of Tyler Clark as an assistant coach prior to the 2024-25 season. Clark’s addition to the coaching staff brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the program.
Prior to joining College of Charleston, Clark spent two seasons at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he served as the women’s basketball Director of Operations followed by one season as a Special Assistant Coach. During his time at UTC, Clark played a crucial role in the team’s success, assisting with guard play and recruiting operations. He was instrumental in helping the Mocs secure back-to-back Southern Conference titles and a berth in the NCAA Tournament, with an impressive overall record of 48-18.
Harmony expressed her excitement about Clark’s appointment, noting his valuable contribution to a successful NCAA tournament team. She emphasized his energy, work ethic, and commitment to excellence, which align perfectly with the program’s values and goals.
Prior to his tenure at UTC, Clark served as a graduate assistant for the women’s basketball team at Wheeling University in West Virginia. During his time at Wheeling, he had the opportunity to work with standout players like Lilly Ritz, the leading Division II rebounder. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Clark earned his MBA in Business Administration, further enhancing his skill set and knowledge in the field of athletics.
Clark’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from Bowling Green University in Ohio. His commitment to education and continuous learning reflects his dedication to personal and professional growth.
Originally from Ohio, Clark currently resides in Summerville, South Carolina, with his wife Emily, daughter Ellie Ray, and their two golden retrievers, Bowen and Miles. His passion for basketball and commitment to excellence extends beyond the court, as evident in his personal life and relationships.
