Charleston Baseball June Summer Ball Update – College of Charleston Athletics

Charleston, South Carolina – July 1, 2024

Charleston baseball student-athletes are competing across the country this summer in collegiate summer leagues. While some teams are just getting underway, several Cougars have already made an impact in their respective leagues.

Cavan McMeans, Cropdusters (Ripken)

McMeans has made six appearances with 23 at-bats, accumulating four RBI and a homer during his time with the Cropdusters.

Nick Foster, Florence Flamingos (CPL)

Foster has played in 15 games for the Flamingos, recording ten hits, six runs, and three RBI, showcasing his talent on the field.

Dariyan Pendergrass, Lexington County (CPL)

In eight contests, Pendergrass has amassed nine hits, scored 11 runs, and driven in five RBI with an impressive .300 batting average.

Kevin Steelman, Lexington County (CPL)

Steelman has taken the mound in four games, striking out a total of 16 batters while maintaining a solid 2.25 ERA for Lexington County.

Brent Gibbs, Lexington County (CPL)

Gibbs has been a standout player for Lexington County, appearing in 11 games and tallying 17 hits, 12 runs, 2 doubles, 1 HR, and 7 RBI with an impressive .372 batting average.

Chase Jarnagin, Lima Locos (Great Lakes)

Jarnigan has showcased his pitching prowess for the Lima Locos, totaling six strikeouts in four appearances on the mound this summer.

These Charleston baseball student-athletes continue to impress with their performances in various collegiate summer leagues, representing the College of Charleston Athletics program with skill and determination.
