RICHMOND, Va. – A record-breaking 216 student-athletes from the College of Charleston have been recognized as members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the 2024 Spring semester. This achievement marks a new high since the conference began acknowledging three different levels of academic success.
Across the entire CAA, a total of 3,876 student-athletes were honored for their academic excellence. The conference distinguishes student-athletes at three different levels based on their grade point averages. Those with a perfect 4.0 GPA receive recognition as High Honors with Distinction. Student-athletes with GPAs between 3.7 and 4.0 are acknowledged as High Honors, while those with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.7 receive Honors.
This semester, 668 student-athletes earned the prestigious High Honors with Distinction, 1,107 achieved High Honors, and 2,101 received Honors for their academic performance.
Student-athletes who make the Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll must have participated in a CAA-sponsored sport, maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the designated academic term, and been enrolled as full-time students.
The College of Charleston demonstrated exceptional academic prowess with a significant number of student-athletes meeting and exceeding the rigorous standards set by the CAA. The institution takes pride in the dedication and hard work shown by these individuals both on the field and in the classroom.
