Holy Smokes BBQ Festival Returns to North Charleston with Flavor, Music, and Community Spirit

Holy Smokes BBQ Festival is Coming to North Charleston!

If you’re a fan of mouthwatering BBQ, lively music, and a great sense of community, then mark your calendars for an event that’s sure to delight your senses—the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival! This amazing festival is making a return for its fourth year, and it promises to be a fantastic day filled with delicious eats and unforgettable experiences.

Get Ready for a Flavorful Adventure

The festival is set to take place on November 9 at Riverfront Park in North Charleston, and it’s an absolute must for anyone who loves good food and good times. The charm of the festival was birthed from the vision of passionate pitmasters, Anthony DiBernardo and Aaron Siegel, who wanted to create a space where talented chefs could shine while giving back to the community. After careful planning and a few years of teamwork, they finally launched this BBQ extravaganza that celebrates the best culinary talent from Charleston and beyond.

A Non-Profit with a Purpose

What sets the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival apart from other food fairs is that it’s a 100% non-profit event. All the proceeds go directly to Hogs for the Cause and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston. DiBernardo recently shared a heartwarming moment when he and Siegel saw their commitment bear fruit—they witnessed Hogs for the Cause donate an incredible $1 million to Prisma Healthcare for a new wing dedicated to pediatric hematology and oncology.

“Seeing the money we raise go directly to those in need gives us motivation to keep pushing harder,” DiBernardo says with a passionate spark in his eye. The funds raised have helped renovate facilities at the Ronald McDonald House, making a real and impactful difference for families during tough times. “Renovating bathrooms and replacing carpets may sound small, but it creates a better environment for those who need it,” he explains.

The Festival Experience

More than just great food, the Holy Smokes BBQ Festival is a chance to embrace the spirit of togetherness. DiBernardo wanted to create an atmosphere that allows chefs and pitmasters to relax and enjoy each other’s company while cooking for the guests. Guests will experience an event divided into “villages”, with different culinary styles represented, making it easy for attendees to mingle and experience a variety of flavors.

“This is a day for everyone to come together,” says DiBernardo. It’s not just about the delicious food, but also about community support. With your ticket, you’re not just buying a meal; you’re contributing to a greater cause.
