Barricaded Suspect Arrested after Breaking into North Charleston Home

In an unexpected turn of events early Wednesday morning, a man took the law into his own hands in the Coosaw Creek neighborhood of North Charleston, South Carolina. The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Marlon Dwight Brabham, was arrested following allegations of first-degree burglary and violation of a pre-existing restraining order.

Situation Escalates as Suspect Barricades inside the Home

According to reports, the incident commenced around 6 a.m. Wednesday when Brabham allegedly broke into a woman’s residence. In response, the SWAT team was dispatched to the location and surrounded the house, preparing for what would unfold into a drawn-out standoff with the barricaded suspect.

Thankfully, the female homeowner managed to escape the residence unhurt amidst the chaos. However, the suspect reportedly refused to surrender and exit the property.

Resolution Finally Arrives with Arrest

North Charleston Police spokesman Harve Jacobs confirmed that law enforcement made the decision to enter the property around 11:30 a.m. After multiple strenuous hours, the police successfully apprehended and arrested Brabham.

Suspect’s Status Imprisoned in Dorchester County

Upon arrest, Brabham was taken into custody and transported to the Dorchester County Detention Center, where he currently awaits his preliminary hearing. At the time of writing, a booking photo was unavailable, and it remains unknown if Brabham has been assigned legal representation.
