Back-to-School Bash at Tanger Outlets Charleston: A Day of Shopping and Fun!

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.

Tanger Outlets Charleston opened its doors for a festive Back-to-School Bash on Friday, August 2, inviting local families to enjoy a day filled with shopping and fun. This event coincided with South Carolina’s Tax-Free Holiday, which runs from Friday to Sunday, allowing shoppers to save money as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Exciting Deals Awaiting Shoppers

The store doors swung open for shoppers between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., offering discounts that ranged from 20 to 70 percent off a variety of brands including Nike, Crocs, J.Crew, and Gap. Families were eager to take advantage of the significant savings just in time to stock up on essential school items.

Donald Ross, a shopper at the event, shared his excitement about the opportunity for his son, Zaedyn Jones, to find some new clothes. “He gets the chance to get some more clothes and express himself through fashion,” Ross said. “And, you know, I’m just here to foot the bill so.” Parents and kids alike appreciated the chance to shop during this festive atmosphere.

A Day Full of Fun Activities

In addition to the shopping, the event offered a multitude of activities for families to enjoy. Attendees could participate in games, enjoy music, and indulge in delicious food from local food trucks. There were also fun activities for younger attendees, including face painting and a special balloon stand where kids could pick up colorful creations.

One young attendee, Lily Horne, shared her joy after receiving a balloon from one of the vendors. “I got this balloon from the nice lady over there at the little balloon stand, and I got a little doggy,” she excitedly reported, showcasing her new favorite toy.

Shopper Savings and Special Offers

Shoppers were excited as they made the most of the tax-free weekend combined with store promotions. Another shopper, Emily Benardo, noted, “I mean, obviously it’s still expensive, but with the tax-free weekend, it’s good. And most of the stores have pretty good, like, buy one get one and half-off deals.” This made it easier for families to stretch their budgets while preparing for the school year.

Moreover, students who purchased a backpack during the event had the added bonus of customizing their items with patches. This customization option allowed kids to add a personal touch to their school supplies, making the return to school even more special.

The Spirit of Community

The Back-to-School Bash at Tanger Outlets Charleston not only provided a great opportunity for shopping but also fostered a sense of community. Families gathered together to celebrate, share experiences, and prepare for the transition back to school. The lively atmosphere brought parents and children together to embrace the upcoming school year with excitement.
