Popular Atlanta-based restaurant, The Select, is readying its doors to open a new location in downtown Charleston later this spring. The exact location would be 465 Meeting St., conveniently nestled at the base of Greystar’s corporate headquarters building. The opening of this much-anticipated establishment is expected to take place in the late May of 2024.
Known for its charm and sophistication, The Select promises its patrons an upscale dining experience, complete with refined decor and live music. Owner Dave Green conveyed his excitement about the new venture in a recent press release. He expressed, “Charleston’s magnetic charm and culinary allure make it the perfect next stop for The Select. Its rich history, vibrant food scene, and warm hospitality made the city somewhere I always loved to visit.”
Green further revealed, “When the opportunity to work with Greystar came along, we knew it was meant to be.” The partnership is expected to bolster the restaurant’s presence in the thriving southern city.
Diners at the new location can anticipate an exceptional culinary journey. The Select’s menu aims to fuse the nuanced flavours of French continental cuisine with the traditional tastes of the Lowcountry. Among the offerings, diners will find small plates like the restaurant’s famous French onion soup and lobster Arancini. Larger entrees will include delectable dishes such as miso sea bass and steak frites.
Moreover, there will be full brunch and dinner menus to cater to diverse dining preferences. For seafood lovers, the restaurant plans to incorporate a raw bar serving a curated selection of freshly shucked oysters and seasonal seafood selections.
Charleston’s food scene continues its exponential growth, and The Select’s entry seems to intensify this trend. The franchise is gearing up to cater to the gastronomic needs of both locals and tourists alike, whilst adding a dash of Atlanta’s charm to Charleston’s vibrant food scene.
The Select is projected to commence its operations by late May 2024 at 465 Meeting St., Suite 120, promising an unmatched dining experience for residents of and visitors to Charleston.
