Allegiance Flag Supply Expands to Larger Facility
In North Charleston, a city in South Carolina, a renowned American flag-making company, Allegiance Flag Supply, targets an increase in productivity. With the South Carolina Republican presidential primary just around the corner, the company, renowned for crafting the revered symbol of the nation, is preparing to produce a staggering 1,000 flags per day.
“(We’re) really prepping for Memorial Day, Labor Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July,” shared Katie Lyon, co-founder of Allegiance Flag Supply. “Flag sales skyrocket.”
The Company’s Beginnings
The flag supplier started in 2018, with its founding members discovering poor workmanship on flags they purchased for personal use. They were dissatisfied with flags that fell apart easily; flags that molded, ripped, and tore. They believed the American flag deserved better craftsmanship, sparking the inception of Allegiance Flag Supply.
Supporting American Jobs
Moreover, it was crucial for the company founders to employ a fully American supply chain. The materials used in the flag-making process are domestically sourced, with fabrics acquired from manufacturers in Georgia and South Carolina. “That is always going to be the most important thing to Allegiance,” asserted Lyon. “‘Made in the USA’ means supporting American jobs to us.”
The Current Team
Presently, the company employs 70 staff, with half constituting a hardworking cadre of seamstresses. The output generated by this team satisfies deliveries reaching every state every three days.
Marching Towards Expansion
Allegiance is on the verge of further enhancing its operations. In March, the company plans to shift its operations to a larger facility, better equipped to handle their increasing volume of orders. This expansion stands to amplify Allegiance’s capabilities to cater to the immense demand for quality-crafted, U.S-made flags.
