Family Adventure Park to Open in North Charleston

North Charleston is getting ready to welcome a new family-friendly attraction with the opening of Adrenaline Monkey, an indoor adventure park. Located across from the Tanger Outlet Mall at 4950 Centre Pointe Drive, Suite 100, the facility is set to open its doors in June, offering a range of active entertainment options for all ages and abilities.

An Exciting Lineup of Activities

Adrenaline Monkey promises a variety of adventures for visitors, including ninja warrior obstacle courses complete with fog and buzzers, a mega boulder wall, gamified ninja runs, ninja monkey soft play area, vertical adventures, ninja v ninja trac, warped walls, slides, arcade games, and event space for special occasions. The park aims to provide an engaging and thrilling experience that will keep guests coming back for more.

Moreover, the event space at Adrenaline Monkey can be booked for birthday parties, corporate events, after proms, fundraisers, field trips, team building activities, and more, making it a versatile destination for various occasions.

Inspiration Behind the Park

The idea for Adrenaline Monkey was inspired by the founder, Denise Carkhuff’s twin daughters who were fascinated by the “Ninja Warrior” obstacle courses seen on television. The vision was to create a space where individuals of all shapes, sizes, and ages could enjoy the thrill of obstacle courses and experience the excitement of being ninja warriors themselves.

Carkhuff expressed, “Adrenaline Monkey is not just for children but for anyone looking to unleash their inner adventurer and take on exciting challenges.”

A Local Connection

Local resident Jamie Haggerty from John’s Island played a significant role in bringing Adrenaline Monkey to North Charleston. With prior experience as the general manager of the original location and later as a corporate manager overseeing all locations, Haggerty advocated for this fourth location and is eager to be directly involved in the park’s operations.

Haggerty shared, “We’re committed to providing a safe and dynamic environment for individuals seeking to stay active, disconnect from screens, or simply seek an adrenaline rush.”

Growth and Community Engagement

Originally launched in June 2018 in Cleveland, Adrenaline Monkey aims to not only entertain but also educate and train its visitors. The park will offer classes, clinics, and competitions for those interested in enhancing their athletic abilities and overall fitness.

Starting in June 2024, Adrenaline Monkey will offer youth programs such as after-school activities, camps, and clinics, as well as opportunities for local athletes to cross-train, engage in employment, participate in fundraisers, and more.

Conclusion

With its upcoming opening, Adrenaline Monkey is poised to become a popular destination for families and adventure seekers in North Charleston. The park’s diverse range of activities, focus on inclusivity, and commitment to providing a fun and safe environment make it a promising addition to the city’s entertainment scene.
