North Charleston Welcomes a Craft of Excellence: Middleton Made Knives Opening Soon

As the vibrant city of North Charleston gears up for a new chapter in its food scene, local entrepreneur Quintin Middleton is making waves with an exciting announcement. After years of hard work and passion, Middleton is set to unveil his very own physical storefront for Middleton Made Knives this October. If you’ve been eager to explore the world of handcrafted cutlery, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Realizing a Dream

Middleton has dreamed of owning a shop to showcase his exquisite knives for over a decade. Coming from a background where he took pride in crafting knives with precision and care, he has always believed in creating a solid foundation rather than rushing into business. “I didn’t just want to start a business and within a year have a store,” he said. “I wanted to create my foundation.” And create it he has!

A New Home at Navy Yard Charleston

The new storefront, located at 2154 Noisette Boulevard, is part of the Navy Yard Charleston, a burgeoning mixed-use development that aims to revitalize historic buildings from the former naval base. Set within a four-story brick structure, originally built in 1918 for navy administration, the shop spans 581 square feet and promises an array of stunning knives and knife-sharpening services.

Knives Made with Love

True to its artisanal roots, Middleton Made Knives will continue to produce its cutlery by hand. The knives, made from high carbon or stainless steel, have garnered admiration from local chefs and have been featured in renowned publications. The upcoming store will offer a mix of more affordable options from the Echo series alongside custom, high-end pieces designed for those who appreciate culinary craftsmanship. This ensures that every cooking enthusiast, from novice to professional, can find something perfect for their kitchen.

The First Retail Tenant

Middleton’s new shop will be the first retail tenant of Storehouse Nine, which has kicked off what promises to be an exciting transformation of the area. Alongside Middleton Made Knives, the plaza will also host The Drop In, a fitness studio co-founded by a former executive director of the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, Gillian Zettler. The addition of these businesses signifies a thriving community spirit that North Charleston is becoming known for.

Looking Ahead

As residents and visitors eagerly await the grand opening, there’s also a sense of excitement in the air about what Middleton Made Knives will bring to North Charleston. The blend of culinary and craftsmanship experience aims to create a hub where both cooking and community thrive.

In the backdrop of North Charleston, and with the sun peeking through the clouds today, providing a high of around 85 degrees Fahrenheit, it’s the perfect day to pay a visit to the growing list of local attractions. With the warmth of community and the vibrancy of local businesses, we can expect lifelong memories as we support our local artisans.
