Charleston Men’s Basketball Unveils Exciting Non-Conference Schedule
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s basketball team, under the leadership of head coach Chris Mack, has revealed its highly anticipated non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The defending CAA Champion Cougars are gearing up for an action-packed lineup of games that promise to be thrilling for fans and players alike.
Season Opener and Home Games
The Cougars will kick off Mack’s inaugural season as head coach on Monday, November 4, against Southern Illinois at the Field of 68 Opening Showcase in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This game is set to be an exciting showdown that will also mark the start of the Division I men’s basketball season. Following the season opener, Charleston will return home for its first game at TD Arena against South Florida on November 8.
Charleston will then host the Field of 68 Tipoff at TD Arena, where they will face off against Florida Atlantic on November 15 and Liberty on November 17. This event will be a highlight for fans, with the Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman and Rob Dauster on-site to host pre-game shows and the network’s popular After Dark show.
Traveling Contests and Holiday Games
After the home stint, the Cougars will travel to McAlister Field House to take on The Citadel on November 20 before heading to face A10 competitor Rhode Island on November 24. Charleston will then return home for games against Northern Kentucky on November 27 and Tusculum on December 3.
The team will hit the road again for their second A10 contest at St. Joseph’s on December 10 before returning home to host Wofford on December 16. Charleston will close out the year at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamondhead Classic, where they will compete against top-tier teams like Charlotte, Hawai’i, and Loyola Chicago among others.
Exciting Tournament Action
The Hawaiian Airlines Diamondhead Classic, in its 15th edition, promises to be a thrilling event for fans and players alike. Set to take place on December 22, 23, and 25 at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, this tournament will showcase some of the best college basketball talent in the nation.
