Breeze Airways Restarts Nonstop Flights from Charleston to Los Angeles
Low-cost carrier Breeze Airways has announced that it will resume nonstop service from Charleston to Los Angeles, a substantive move that promises to increase connectivity and boost economic activities between the Southeast and the West Coast.
Expansion of Service
The service, which initially resumed on May 6, will be expanded to operate four times per week starting June 12, according to a recent press release by Breeze Airways. This shift is in response to the overwhelmingly positive performance of the flight service since its reinstatement.
“We’re thrilled to bring back nonstop service between Los Angeles and Charleston this summer,” commented Breeze Airways’ President, Tom Doxey. “The twice-weekly flights have been doing so well that, in June, we’re doubling them to four times weekly.”
Breeze’s Flight Options
Breeze Airways offers its customers a mix of bundled and a la carte options, known as Nice, Nicer, and Nicest. With the upcoming Boeing A220-300 operation, customers can opt for the Nicest bundle, offering an array of perks. The Nicer package includes a checked bag, a carry-on, free inflight WiFi, and a premium economy seat in its “extra legroom” section. Offering a lavish flying experience, the Nicest bundle adds priority boarding, Breeze Ascent — the carrier’s inflight experience, featuring 2×2 first-class-style seating and complimentary snacks and beverages, including alcohol.
Impact on Charleston
The resumption of nonstop service to Los Angeles is not just a win for Breeze Airways but also for Charleston. It will provide business and leisure passengers from Charleston convenient access to one of the world’s most significant airport gateways.
“We are excited to once again offer nonstop service to LAX for Charleston business and leisure passengers traveling to California,” said Elliott Summey, CEO of Charleston International Airport. “This service will allow convenient access to and from one of the most important airport gateways to the world. California has been in our top ten states of visitor inquiry for at least 20 years. Being able to fly nonstop from LAX to Charleston will turn Californians interest into action.”
Final Thoughts
The return of Breeze Airways’ nonstop service from Charleston to Los Angeles marks a significant milestone in air travel recovery, post-COVID-19. Not only does this mean more options for travelers, but it also hints at the slowly returning confidence in air travel. Furthermore, the resumption of these nonstop flights will potentially stimulate tourism and business travel, thereby aiding the recovery of local and state economies.
