In a remarkable display of academic excellence, the College of Charleston Athletics Department is proud to announce that 216 student-athletes have been named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the 2024 Spring semester. This number marks a new record since the conference moved to recognizing three different levels of achievement, showcasing the dedication and hard work of the Cougars’ student-athletes.
The CAA honors student-athletes for three levels of achievement based on their grade point averages. Those with a perfect 4.0 GPA are recognized as High Honors with Distinction. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 receive recognition as High Honors, while those with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.7 are honored with the title of Honors.
This semester, a total of 3,876 student-athletes across the league earned honors for their outstanding academic performance. The breakdown includes 668 student-athletes achieving High Honors with Distinction, 1,107 receiving High Honors, and 2,101 student-athletes earning Honors for their dedication to both academics and athletics.
To qualify for the Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have participated in a CAA-sponsored sport, maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 during the designated academic term, and been enrolled as full-time students. This recognition underscores the commitment of these student-athletes to excel both on the field and in the classroom.
The College of Charleston Athletics Department extends its heartfelt congratulations to all 216 student-athletes who have been named to the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll for the Spring 2024 semester. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence serve as an inspiration to their fellow student-athletes, coaches, and the entire Cougar community.
