Mount Pleasant is a major American suburb of Charleston, South Carolina. It is the fourth largest municipality in South Carolina and the largest town in the LowCountry, and it has been one of the state’s fastest-growing areas for several years, more than doubling in population between 1990 and 2000. The population was 67,843 according to the 2010 census. The expected population in 2019 was 91,684.

Patriots Point is a naval and maritime museum at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge that holds the World War II aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, which is now a museum ship. The Ravenel Bridge, an eight-lane bridge erected in 2005 that crosses the Cooper River and connects Mount Pleasant and Charleston, spans the Cooper River.
